Use of the App
HiraKata grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial Japanese learning.
You may use the app on devices you control, subject to the rules of the app store or platform through which you downloaded it.
Eligibility and Accounts
You must be legally able to accept these terms in your country or have permission from a parent or guardian if required.
You are responsible for maintaining access to your device, backups, and any app store account used to download or purchase features in HiraKata.
Educational Content
HiraKata is an educational tool designed to support kana recognition, reading, listening, and writing practice.
We try to keep the content accurate and useful, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, perfect accuracy, or any specific learning, exam, or fluency outcome.
Paid Features and Billing
Some features may require a paid purchase, including lifetime or premium access such as HiraKata Unlimited. Pricing, taxes, billing, and refunds are managed by the store linked to your device account and may also be subject to that store's terms.
If a purchase is cancelled, refunded, reversed, or rejected, access to the related paid features may be limited or removed to match the billing status.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse HiraKata or interfere with its normal operation. In particular, you must not:
- copy, resell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app or its content;
- attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, automate, probe, or bypass technical protections in the app;
- use the app in a way that harms the service, violates law, or infringes another person's rights.
Intellectual Property
The app, its branding, lessons, copy, audio, visuals, design, and software are protected by intellectual property laws and remain the property of HiraKata and its licensors.
These terms do not transfer any ownership to you. They only give you the limited right to use the app as expressly described here.
Disclaimers and Liability
HiraKata is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HiraKata and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progress, revenue, or business arising from your use of the app.
Suspension, Termination, and Updates
We may suspend or terminate access to the app or to specific features if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or if continued operation is no longer feasible.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the updated version posted in the app or on this site will apply from its effective date. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
